BRAHAM, MN - High winds and lightning caused many members across the ECE system to be without power as trees took down lines and lightning damaged electrical equipment.

The first outage calls were received around 8 p.m., Monday. Outage numbers continued to rise through the night even though all available crews were called out. The hardest hit areas were Milaca, MN, and Superior, WI. Crews restored power to many of those members by daybreak, but outages were reported well into Tuesday as trees continued to damage power lines. ECE restored power to all members by 10 p.m., Tuesday.

ECE thanks members for their patience and reminds them to report outages by calling 1-800-254-7944.

East Central Energy www.eastcentralenergy.com is a member-owned electric cooperative serving nearly 57,000 homes, farms and businesses in east central Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin. ECE also provides Internet and long distance services.
